A REMEDY for Itching Ears
CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE REMIXED FOR A NEW GENERATION OF BELIEVERS
This book is written to address an ever-increasing problem in the Christian church of today; namely Christians who are uneducated or undereducated about their own faith and doctrinal beliefs. In general, the average layperson in the church in this post-modern culture does not adequately know the basic doctrinal beliefs that their own faith professes, and therefore they cannot articulate or communicate their faith and beliefs in meaningful, coherent ways.
This is often due to the fact that much of the formal, written doctrinal teaching of the church that exists is written primarily by and for clergy, theologians and scholars in the church. If the level of Christian education and spiritual maturity in the church is to improve, the foundational basics of the formal doctrines of the church must be reinterpreted and in some cases rewritten in order to speak to contemporary believers in the church who have been conditioned to communicate with contemporary language, symbols and illustrations that are so prevalent in our post-modern culture.
This book takes on the ambitious challenge of rewriting one such classic doctrinal document known as the Articles of Faith using contemporary language in order to communicate the substance of the doctrinal teaching to a new generation of believers in the church. Additionally, a user-friendly approach is utilized to teach each Article of Faith using Bible studies written from a contemporary perspective that were actually presented in a contemporary church setting.
Further, the book presents other bible studies of additional prominent doctrinal issues and themes that are currently at the forefront of doctrinal discussion in the contemporary church, but are not directly or adequately addressed in the Articles of Faith as they were originally written.
